The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) held its third Gem & Jewellery Buyer-Seller Meet (BSM) at Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC SEEPZ in Mumbai on September 30 and October 1, 2024.
The event brought together Indian diamond jewellery manufacturers and 28 international buyers from countries including the U.S., Brazil, Spain, Germany, and Saudi Arabia.
Key attendees included Dnyaneshwar Patil, Development Commissioner of SEEPZ, and Kirit Bhansali, Vice Chairman of GJEPC. Bhansali highlighted India’s strong tradition in jewellery-making and its focus on ethical practices.
He mentioned collaborations with the Natural Diamond Council and the World Gold Council to promote diamond and gold jewellery.
Colin Shah, Head of the Working Group at Bharat Ratnam, noted the centre’s advanced technical services for enhancing competitiveness. Mia Katerine, GJEPC’s USA coordinator, pointed out the opportunities for Indian exporters in the U.S. market.
Olga Gonzalez of Pietra Communications discussed the diverse needs of international buyers. Attendees, including Brazilian retailers and U.S. jewellery designers, praised India’s craftsmanship and market offerings.
The BSM featured structured one-on-one meetings, fostering connections between buyers and sellers. GJEPC plans additional events to enhance global exposure for Indian gem and jewellery manufacturers.
