A violent robbery at Kamlesh Jewellers in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, resulted in the death of the store owner, Jai Singh Soni, who was shot while attempting to stop the fleeing suspects.
The incident occurred around 7:30 PM on Friday and was captured on CCTV cameras.
According to a news report in India Today, five masked individuals entered the store, quickly overpowering the security guard and seizing his weapon.
They then held the staff at gunpoint and began filling bags with jewellery. The entire robbery lasted approximately 10 minutes.
The report added that as the thieves were leaving, Jai Singh Soni confronted them, leading to a struggle outside the store.
When Soni tried to pull the robbers from their getaway vehicle, they opened fire, fatally wounding him.
His brother, Sagar Soni, and the store’s security guard were also injured in the shooting. Jaipur Range Inspector General of Police Anil Tank reported that a case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
The report stated that the police are analyzing CCTV footage from the store and surrounding areas to identify the suspects.
Collaborating with Haryana Police, they are conducting raids to apprehend the perpetrators.
The incident has sparked concern in the local community, with bystander videos of the robbery circulating on social media platforms.
No restrictions have been imposed in the district yet, but authorities are intensifying efforts to solve the case and ensure public safety.
