The Jewellery Show, held on September 1-2, 2024, saw high footfall and marked the debut of an India Pavilion, organized by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).
Exhibitors reported strong interest in gem-set and lab-grown jewellery, especially from smaller independent retailers.
Now the UK’s leading jewellery trade fair, the event is being considered as a potential replacement for the former International Jewellery London (IJL), with plans to extend to three days by 2026.
Indian exhibitors, including Sumit Jewels and Asian Star, showcased a range of products such as gold jewellery, silver pieces, and lab-grown diamonds, with many expressing plans to return next year due to positive feedback.
The show also hosted seminars on topics like natural diamond marketing, sustainability, and the precious metals market. A panel discussed the challenges faced by British South Asian jewellers and plans to establish the British Asian Jewellers’ Alliance (BAJA) to protect their interests.
