Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh: In a daring daylight robbery, five armed and masked robbers stormed a jewellery store in Sultanpur’s Thatheri Bazar on Wednesday, looting jewellery worth crores.
The incident, which occurred around 12:30 PM, was captured on the store’s CCTV cameras.
The footage has surfaced on social media, causing widespread concern in the area.
As per a report by The Free Press Journal, the robbers, who held the store owner Bharat Soni and his son Atul at gunpoint, methodically emptied the shop’s safe and display counters before fleeing with the stolen jewellery.
The video footage shows some of the assailants wearing helmets while others had their faces covered with cloth.
The report added that two other people, who appeared to be customers, were also in the store at the time and were held hostage along with the owner and his son. Fortunately, no one was physically harmed during the incident.
According to reports, Bharat Soni, who lives with his family on the shop’s first floor, was at the counter with his son when the robbers entered. The masked men quickly subdued them, preventing any attempt to resist.
The robbers, armed with weapons, efficiently looted the jewellery before escaping.
The report highlighted that the local police responded swiftly to the robbery, arriving at the scene shortly after receiving the report.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. Authorities have formed six teams to track the robbers and are analyzing the CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
This shocking incident has left the residents of Sultanpur in a state of panic as the police intensify efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
