Leicester, UK–Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the world’s sixth-largest jewelry retailer, has opened its second showroom in the UK, located in Leicester, per a report by PTI.

The event, held on July 5, 2024, was attended by Leicester City Mayor Peter Soulsby and senior executives from Malabar Gold & Diamonds, including Shamlal Ahamed, Managing Director of International Operations, and Mohammed Ziad, Head of Operations for the UK and Europe.

The new showroom on Leicester’s Belgrave Road, known as the Golden Mile, covers 2,000 square feet and features over 20,000 jewelry designs from 20 countries.

The collection includes bridal wear, occasional jewelry, daily wear, and office wear, crafted in gold, diamonds, and precious gemstones.

The company is committed to expanding its retail presence and is exploring new markets, including South Africa, Egypt, Bangladesh, Turkey, and New Zealand. This strategy aims to promote India’s heritage of craftsmanship on a global scale.

Abdul Salam K.P, Vice Chairman of Malabar Group, highlighted in the report the company’s commitment to responsibility and sustainability.

Malabar Gold & Diamonds ensures transparency with LBMA-certified bullion and conflict-free diamonds, fair labor practices, and various ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) initiatives.

Since its founding in 1993, Malabar Gold & Diamonds has allocated 5% of its net profits to initiatives focusing on health, hunger, housing, education, women empowerment, and environmental sustainability.

The company’s customer-centric approach is reflected in its ‘Malabar Promise,’ which includes transparent pricing, lifetime maintenance, buyback policies, certified diamonds, UK-hallmarked jewelry, and fair pricing and labor practices.
