A 14-member delegation from Thailand, headed by Ms. Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, Chairman of the Gem and Jewellery Institute of Thailand (GIT), visited Jaipur to explore collaborative opportunities with the Indian gem and jewellery sector.
During their visit, the delegation engaged with representatives from the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the Indian Institute of Gem and Jewellery (IIGJ), and members of local associations such as the Jewellers Association Jaipur and the Sitapura Gems and Jewellery Industry Association.
Discussions focused on various avenues for cooperation, including student and technology exchange programs, business delegation exchanges, joint ventures, and mutual recognition of lab certificates.
The Thai representatives expressed their intent to establish a joint action group to finalize and implement these collaborative initiatives.
Key figures at the meeting included Shri Nirmal Bardiya, Regional Chairman of GJEPC, Dr. Nawal Agarwal, Chairman of IIGJ and IIGJ-RLC, and Shri B.N. Gupta, CoA Member of GJEPC, alongside executive members from the local jewellery associations.
The strong attendance underscored regional support for fostering collaboration with Thailand.
